I'm glad to begin writing my K-pop post with the boyband I loved most, INFINITE. I have been an “Inspirit”(a fan club of INFINITE) from 2010 to 2018, which means I am an "expert” when it comes to them.
The name of this group, INFINITE literally means “infinite”. It is just like they have “infinite charms”. This group is composed of Sungkyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Sungyeol, L, and Sungjong. Originally, it was composed of 7 members, but Hoya(ex-member) left the team in 2017. They officially debuted in June 2010 with their EP, First Invasion.
Logos
The most impressive thing on this group is their logos. They look different depending on what their concept is, but all of them mean a symbol of Infinity.
Whenever they come back with a new album, they have new logos. Sometimes they reuse the same logo as the previous album though. It's mostly when they release new songs consecutively (like releasing re-package albums), or when they have concerts soon after coming back.
My favorite one of their logos is the one on INFINITIZE album. (The middle one on a second row in the picture) Why? I'll tell you later when I introduce the albums, lol.
Official color and lightstick
Their official color is Pearl Metal Gold. They had tried using a wide range of colors temporarily until they made a final decision in 2012, which caused a lot of issues in the fans’ community.
At first, their company, Woollim Entertainment made this red-and-blue lightstick for their fan club founding ceremony. It seems like they intended to make a purple color with gradation. But they got complaints from E.L.F(a fan club of Super Junior) and Cassiopeia(a fan club of TVXQ) because they used red and blue anyways. (Back then, fans were pretty edgy when it comes to the fan club colors; a post about this will be published soon!)
They also distributed this slogan towel as goods for the first Inspirits. It was used when Inspirit(the first single album) came out.
Then, Inspirits suggested several ideas, and the most-likely things were Mocha and Olive. Among those, their company tried Mocha and made these balloons. You can see Inspirits using these when Infinite sings Paradise. They named it “Pastel Mocha”. The color was unique and good, but they got complaints from Kamilia(a fan club of Kara) as it looked similar to their official color, Pearl Peach. So they stopped using it and used just simple light sticks with diverse colors instead.
And finally, in 2012, Woollim Ent. announced they chose the official color, Pearl Metal Gold. Actually, there was a group who were already using Pearl Gold color. However, the company insisted to use that color so fans just accepted it.
Honestly, I don’t mind gold color but it would have been better if it was light blue color. I think it fits on them better since they look active, fresh, and bright. And many Inspirits thought so, too.
In 2014, they got their first official lightstick. It's called as “Yeo-bong”, which means like honey or darling in korean. As usual, it was named by an Inspirit!
A lot of fans made a joke it looks like a shining hammer, lol.
In 2019, they changed the design because the light was not that bright in the darkness. Seems like a wide range of fans are satisfied with it.
